A Journey of Innovation and Dedication
Our journey began with a vision: to create a material that could match the versatility and durability of Jesmonite, a product admired for its balance of strength, lightweight, and aesthetic appeal. We set out on a mission to craft our own material, one that would not only meet these standards but surpass them in key areas like water repellency, durability, and surface finish.
From the start, we knew this would be no easy task. It required meticulous research, countless trials, and a deep understanding of both the materials we were working with and the needs of the end-users. We began by sourcing the highest quality gypsum, recognising that the mineral base was crucial to achieving the right balance of strength and workability. To this, we added a carefully developed blend of advanced polymers, designed to enhance the
material’s resilience and flexibility.

The results of our efforts were extraordinary. Our casted products, whether sealed or unsealed, have survived two years of exterior exposure without any signs of degradation. Even after long spells of rain, the material showed remarkable resilience, softening slightly as any breathable material might, but regaining its strength once dry. This was the breakthrough we had been working towards—a material that could withstand the elements and maintain its integrity and appearance over time.
We didn’t just create one formulation; we developed nine distinct recipes, each tailored to different applications, from economical solutions to high-end, specialised products. Every component, from the mineral gypsum base to the blend of polymers in our liquid and the topcoats and sealers, was developed entirely in-house. Throughout this journey, we partnered with artists, students, and architects, inviting them to test our materials across a variety of applications—from decorative pieces to architectural elements. Their feedback was invaluable, helping us refine our formulations and ensuring that Amalite would meet the highest standards in the field. Today, the Amalite range stands as a testament to what can be achieved with dedication, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of quality. We are proud to offer a product that not only matches the industry’s best but sets a new standard for performance and versatility.
